The Greenville Learning Center provides an individualized instructional program for students with learning differences or attention deficit disorder in grades K-12. Students currently enrolled in the program have been diagnosed as LD and/or ADHD by a psychologist, have average to above average potential, and do not have primary emotional or behavioral difficulties.
Students applying to GLC must be diagnosed with a specific learning differences or attention deficit disorder. An evaluation may be completed by licensed psychologists within the school system or one in private practice. Diagnosis as LD or ADHD is based on average or above average intelligence with a discrepancy between aptitude and achievement in the classroom, but without primary emotional or behavioral difficulties.
The application procedure requires that forms be completed and returned by the parents, physician, psychologist, school personnel and teachers. An interview is conducted at The Greenville Learning Center in order to meet the applicant, assess his/her fit in the program. Parents are encouraged to schedule observations of the program as well as meeting with our director, Penny Weatherly.
All application forms must be completed in order for a student to be considered for admission. Students will be accepted based upon approriate identification and fit into the classes as they are organized.
